Religion, Beligion
Many may ask me why I still call myself a Catholic, after 10 years on the spiritual path. Spirituality in its’ highest essence does not separate based on creed, colour, language, role and gender. Spirituality itself brings people together.
The ‘Spiritual Path’ is nothing more than moving one’s self from a place of disconnection to connection… from wounding to wholeness…. From darkness to light. The Avalonians believes that the depth of our inner connection brings us to the sacred, majestic and fully-actualized center within us.
“… you are peace when my
thoughts wage war,
You are peace to the anxious heart,
and that’s who You are.
When the oceans rise and thunders roar,
I will soar with you above the storm,
… I will be still, and
Know You are God…”
– Excerpt from the song Still / PEACE by Hillsongs Worship
When I am so connected within, I am connected without – externally one with the Divinity I see and feel in every breath I take. Every step I take. God’s universal life force, unconditional love, support and infinite knowingness is all around me.
Being a Catholic reminds me, teaches me on a daily basis – to bow my head in humility and not be filled with hubris & ego. It teaches me how to BE and become the beacon of love and radiant light in the manner that God made me. It teaches me to be kind, always, to be loyal to the wronged, to speak up for those who have no voice, and the light to those in despair.
Putting aside me, putting aside fear and lack or fighting for money.
I express it through the BELIGION of a Catholic.
We all have our unique expressions of BELIGION whether a Muslim, a Christian, a Buddhist, a Hindu, a Freethinker, an Agnostic or even an Atheist.
God is with me, within me, around me. And I pray He is for you too.
